Physical Therapy

Impact Physical Therapy
Kent Bond, PT, MSPT
Physical Therapist

At Impact, physical therapy focuses on developing, maintaining, and restoring maximum movement and functional ability.

As a young athlete in The Dalles, Kent received physical therapy for many of his injuries. Kent knew at a very young age that he wanted to be a physical therapist. He enjoyed growing up in The Dalles—playing baseball, working Christmas trees farms, wheat harvests and cherry orchards helped shape his work ethic. He learned that hard work, perseverance and determination can solve almost all problems.

Physical Therapy is a natural fit for Kent. He works closely with his patients helping to relieve their fears, anxiety and pain associated with injuries, post. surgery and movement dysfunction. Returning people to their highest level of function gives him his greatest satisfaction!

Kent attended Judson Baptist College from 1980 to 1982 when he transferred to Pacific University in the fall of 1982 to pursue his dream of becoming a Physical Therapist. Kent enjoyed playing baseball and participating in the athletic training programs while in college. Kent graduated in 1984 with his B.S. in Health Care Administration and 1988 with his M.S. in Physical Therapy.

Kent and his wife Anna, have 3 children. When not providing Physical Therapy, Kent has enjoyed playing on 3 National Championship Men’s Adult Baseball Teams, cycling/racing with Portland Velo Cycling Club and recently, training his labrador retriever, Fenway for upland gamebird hunting.

As the owners of Impact Physical Therapy of Hillsboro, Kent and his wife Anna, feel blessed to have such a gifted team to serve the greater Hillsboro community.

What can I expect during Physical Therapy at Impact?
The physical therapy experience at Impact begins with a one-on-one consultation with a physical therapist. After exploring the patient’s medical history and current concerns, the patient or client’s goals are established.

Goals might include:

  • Eliminating pain
  • Restoring joint mobility
  • Preventing falls and improving balance
  • Improving flexibility
  • Returning to sport
  • Preventing injury
  • Improving sports performance
  • Weight loss

Physical Therapy

Debbie Thrall, MSPT, MDT
Physical Therapist

I have been in practice since 1988 in a variety of settings. My focus in PT has been in mechanical diagnosis and treatment, which identifies categories of spine and extremity injuries/pain and treats with an emphasis on the role of self treatment by the patient. I was certified in MDT in 1994.

More recently I have certified in Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), an exciting new way of treating the nervous system; muscle pain; and many other conditions using specific frequencies of micro amperage current. Protocols that I use to treat pain include Acute Disc, Chronic Disc, Acute/Chronic Facet, Soft Tissue, etc. There are also programs for Concussion, Brain Fog, Relax and Balance, etc. The current helps with nervous and emotion tension, and trauma. Microcurrent is quite safe. The list of precautions is short: I do not treat cancer or pregnant women.

Most treatments include manual therapy and targeted (injury specific) exercise as well as microcurrent for chronic pain, inflammation, scar formation and other injuries. PT sessions are done one on one by me.

My husband and I have lived near Banks since 1996. I am pleased to be a part of the new Banks Wellness Center and serve this great community!

Wave Health/Bemer Therapy

Raini Hale
Wave Health Inc.
Independent BEMER Distributor

What is BEMER?
BEMER is a bio-physical proven application designed to improve circulation thereby supporting the body’s natural self-regulating processes. Blood is the body’s universal means of transport. Oxygen, nutrients, chemical messengers (e.g., hormones) and immune cells are all transported through our blood. When our body’s cells, tissues and organs are adequately nourished and metabolic waste products are removed, our bodies become healthy and function properly. The optimal regulation of circulation is a prerequisite for ensuring good levels of health and fitness. Are you Stressed, Restless, Unfocused, Exhausted or do you have Discomfort or Low Energy?

BEMER enhances:

  • General bloodflow
  • The body’s nutrient and oxygen supply and waste disposal
  • Cardiac function
  • Physical Fitness, Endurance, Strength and Energy
  • Concentration, Mental acuity, Stress Reduction and Relaxation
  • Sleep Management

Tiffany Erickson
Pound Fitness Instructor

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising. POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. All ages, abilities, men and women are welcome to this fun and energizing class!

My name is Tiffany Erickson and I teach this awesome class called POUND! I have been teaching exercise classes for about five years and I have a degree in Exercise & Science.

My passion for fitness started out with dance at a young age, and grew into fitness classes in college when I took my first Aerobics class. I love helping people have fun while they exercise! Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore, you can have fun while doing and not realize that you’ve spent the last 45 to 60 minutes burning calories.

POUND Fitness is a great way to get lost in the music and moves while working the body. Everyone is welcome to come join the class, whether it’s their first time to exercise or they’re a pro! It does not matter if you make a mistake or can’t do the full movement, what matters are that you’re sweating, smiling, and having fun!

Massage Therapy

Heidi Brogdon

Heidi has been working as a massage therapist in the Banks area since 2015 and has lived in the area since 2006. She helps people with rehab after injury or surgery, and has worked with many people in conjunction with chiropractic care, following a motor vehicle accident. Massage is beneficial for helping to rebound faster with less pain. Heidi also works with those seeking stress relief and relaxation. With the incorporation of cupping, aromatherapy and energy work into a massage therapy session, she is able to provide the client with an even greater sense of well being.
